Executive Search Industry Experiences “Rapid” Worldwide Growth

Revenues for the executive search industry have benefited from the highest quarterly rise since the recession.
Research from the Association of Executive Search Consultants’ (AESC) has revealed that during Q2 2010 quarterly net revenue has increased by 12% across the globe compared to Q2 2009 figures. Furthermore, the number of executive searches that have been conducted worldwide has increased by 38%.
Their study discovered that executive searches in the financial industry experienced the greatest year-on-year growth, with a 50% rise during the second quarter of this year. Technology, Industrial and Consumer sectors also showed a high increase in searches.
Peter Felix, President, AESC, comments: “The critical issue now is whether the next two quarters will hold up in the face of continuing uncertainty about a double dip recession.”
“On the bright side, however, is the realisation by many organisations that the shortage of talent, already evident before the recession, is reasserting itself strongly. Companies have begun to think strategically again and in looking for growth are seeking out those executives who can offer both operational strength but also practical leadership in taking organisations and teams forward.”
