Intermediary Mortgage - Product Manager

Overview

The Intermediary Mortgage Product team drives mortgage acquisition core brands.  The team is responsible for bringing compelling products and propositions to the Intermediary mortgage market and works closely with Sales, Operations and Risk colleagues to manage and coordinate all aspects of the mortgage business. 

Specifically, the team is accountable for generating c.60% of new mortgage business and has responsibility for managing key financial metrics including margins, profitability and mix.

Job Purpose

As an Intermediary Product & Pricing Manager you will be responsible for making dynamic pricing decisions that will deliver the strategic goals as part of the Group's wider strategy.

On a daily basis you will be leading initiatives with sales, marketing and finance to coordinate activity to bring products to market and in the medium term you will be key in delivering the direction of Intermediary Mortgage business in a competitive and changing market.      

 Accountabilities

  • Proactive pricing of mortgage products to achieve daily, weekly and monthly targets.
  • Deliver a segmented approach to pricing ensuring that NII and NPV are delivered according to targets.
  • Apply a highly analytical approach to decision making to ensure business cases support the Group's wider objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategies to maximise income performance whilst balancing customer needs.
  • Deliver targets within the Group's risk appetite both in terms of business mix and quality of book.
  • Work with other colleagues across function to ensure that propositions complement each other.
  • Support the identification of business environment changes (e.g. economic, regulatory and market), assess its impact on current approach, define strategic alternatives, changes to the customer & business model, high-level implementation plans and expected financial impacts.
  • Assist in creating clear & compelling proposals and presentations for Commercial Executive Team on acquisition strategy.
  • Contribute to the delivery of customer advocacy net promoter score by applying a customer lens to challenge initiatives and processes.
  • Build a deep and insightful understanding of customer behaviour to support our strategic development.
  • Drive customer advocacy in every decision the business takes.

 Key Capabilities/Knowledge

  • Proven strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working in the financial services industry and an understanding of mortgage products and policies
  • Experience of liaising with channels
  • Experience of working with or within a project environment
